HDP Co-chair Sebahat Tuncel and MPs Pervin Buldan, Selma Irmak, Nursel Aydoğan, Ayla Akat Ata and the new mayor of Lice in Diyarbakır, Rezan Zoğurlu, have paid a visit to the recenly elected co-mayor of Diyarbakır, Gültan Kışanak. Co-chair Tuncel here stated that they have worked together with Kışanak before as co-chairs and they hope that Kışanak will be further expanding here story of success here in the local governmnet as well. Tuncel further said: “Kışanak will be taking on a very important responsibility here as the pioneers of the co-mayor system at Diyarbakır. The struggle might appear to be a hard one to handle. However, we believe that Kışanak will succeed. We fully pledge our support for you. We will run this city together. You are not just the co-chair of this city but also a co-chair of our political movement.”
Kışanak stated that it was very important for her to see her collagues and friends come and support her here in person in Diyarbakır, that they will continue to work together and always value their support. Kışanak finished her words by saying: “We will succeed together. This is the victory of the women’s will, labor and struglle and we shall work very hard to be worthy of this support. I believe in your support and thank you all very much.”
