The massacre led by The Islamıc State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) has killed more than fifteen civilians, mostly women and children, in Serêkaniyê, Rojava.

We offer our condolences to the families of the victims. We salute and express our solidarity with those struggling against these attacks and for democracy, peace, human rights and equality in Rojava.

While we still mourn the deaths of the two women and the wounded children who were shot by soldiers as they were trying to cross the border, we now receive the news coming from Syria that Turkey-backed gangs are massacring the Kurds, Christians, Alawites and Arabs that refuse to adhere to Sharia.

This attack is not a first. We are deeply saddened and angered by this massacre. We are saddened as we witness the murder of a great number of children and civilians. Our frustration stems from the political responsibility and role the AKP government has in relation to this massacre as this attack was led by the Turkey-backed ISIL groups in Syria.

We once again call upon AKP to cut all its ties with and cease support for ISIL and its proxy paramilitary units. The AKP government should immediately put an end to its ongoing policy of negligence on Rojava and open its borders for purposes providing humanitarian relief in and civilian access to Turkey.

We call upon the government to cease its logistical support, especially those coordinated within Turkey, to ISIL, Al-Qaida and their proxy paramilitary groups in Syria and Rojava. Do not gloss over and support the massacre of the peoples in Rojava, including those against the Kurdish population.
