Hundreds of women and children have lost their lives In Gaza as of July 7, the day the air strikes began. The decision to carry out ground operations only increased the amount of civilian casualties. The catastrophe in the region has turned into an atrocity.
Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) strongly condemns the massacre of the civilian population in Gaza and urges the peoples of the world, especially those who live in Israel, to voice their disapproval against Israel’s military campaign. Protesting the Israeli attacks on Gaza is a conscientious and moral obligation for all.
The silence of the international community sets forth the possibility that the attacks on Gaza will continue in the upcoming days. Therefore, HDP calls upon the international community to not only protest Israel but also expose all the governments and international NGOs that have kept silent against the attacks.
HDP calls upon the State of Israel to immediately put an end to its air strikes and ground operations and to make amends for the losses.
We urge the AKP government to take concrete steps to apply sanctions on the military and economic agreements between the two states; instead of solely issuing statements on the issue.
HDP once again puts forth its alliance with the people of Palestine in resistance. May the civilians who have lost their lives rest in peace.
